1. Define a genuine news angle
Answer three questions: what is new, why does it matter now, and who is affected? Purely promotional announcements are less useful to editorial teams.
2. Structure the release
Use a factual headline, a concise lead, short body copy, verifiable figures, an attributed quote and a clear press contact.
3. Target relevant outlets
Segment outlets by sector, language, geography and audience. A short relevant list is more useful than untargeted mass outreach.
4. Prepare the outreach
Write a short email explaining the angle and why it fits that outlet. Link to useful assets instead of attaching large files.
5. Follow up thoughtfully
Track the send date, contact, status and response. One contextual follow-up may help; repeated generic follow-ups usually do not.
